local people
Creating a nationally-important renewable energy plant on this scale is bound to affect local people in the Holderness area.
We are determined to be as good a neighbour as possible. We welcome input from local people with suggestions as to how we can work together to reduce the effects of the plant and its operation.
We anticipate significant direct and indirect benefits to the local economy, involved as it will be in running, supplying and servicing this plant. The Tansterne Plant will be good for the local economy, in terms of providing full and part-time employment, as well as invigorating local agriculture, by offering a premium rate for a currently under-used agricultural by-product - straw.
heat
Richard Caley, the Managing Director of GB-BIO, has gone on record as saying that he will work with local people if they wish to investigate the benefits and feasibility of a district heating system. In a rapidly changing energy market, domestic fuel prices are certain to rise. Taking advantage of locally-generated heat could provide a signficant financial benefit for local people.
education
As stated on the education page, GB-BIO is willing to work with East Riding schools to help spread the message about sustainablity and renewable energy. We look forward to your inquiries.
